Good Lord And Them

Good Lord, you really must be majestic because they believed so

They had just learnt to stand and you taught them to bow

Hymns and tales, their years spent on devotion

You failed at times, they still praised your creation

They carved your name on thrones that you now refuse to sit on

They starved on the stairs that were built to help you reach down

Parents lived in hopes leaving their children with memories of angst

And those kids did not feel so wrong that they chose to advance

They might mock you, to their honesty you have been long gone

Good Lord, come back they are all desperate to be proven wrong
