Glowing Young

It is that day of the month, which is considered unlucky by some,

It cannot be more, luckier for me, for this day, God made you come!

It is that day of the month when we celebrate your day of birth,

For a person, whose abundance of love, faith & courage, has no dearth!

Your beautiful face is convoluted when you show agitation and despair,

But it takes just a moment or two for your heart to heal and repair!

You keep no grudge with nobody, however long or short,

But one must be wary of when to fight and when to abort!

You have buttery fingers, which even ‘Amul’ doesn’t boast,

Don’t look dejected at things, which are already ‘toast’!

Hold on to your thoughts before you make them utter,

Don’t you want to be smooth and fluent without a stutter?

You take ages to scan your brim-filled cupboard for something to don,

Yet the urge to scan websites for apparels goes on from dusk to dawn!

Oh! What will the brands of the world do without your presence in a mall?

I say, “It’s enough! But somehow, it always remains YOUR Call!

Your love for jogs and runs with so much enthusiasm is unmatched,

Your trips and falls so frequent coz your steps are so mismatched!

Your attitude says – “Rise up again, once you fall”,

Your spirit and determination are there to see, for one all!

You say you have a mountain of work you hardly have the time,

I cringe at the very thought as though I chewed on a lime!

Sometimes your plate is full and your capacity about to bloat,

Take it easy, chill and relax, my dear and do not gloat!

Passage of these years has made you change and grow,

I would have said many a pleasant thing, but I am not your bro!

You have yet, a lot to listen and give a mind to learn,

I am your ‘constant’ critic, and I will give you that chance to earn!

You are so keen at ever learning who learns like a child,

But you are mostly distracting yourself and think I am blind

Yet the tasks at hand are dutifully carved with perfection!

The lack of effort in anything you want to achieve is just an eyeful deception!

You have always worked so hard to put a load bearing elephant to shame,

You have not wasted your breath in the returns - you are hardly to blame!

It makes you special, passionate, and committed with great reason,

I am sure your toil will pay out in plenitude when it is the right season!

You and I share a telepathy - it often freaks me out!

It is testimony to our bond from the start, it leaves no doubt!

The vibes and signals are just ‘a look at each other’,

It is so wonderful to share this life with you and NO ONE OTHER!

What a wonderful human you are with many cute faults,

My prayer to God to smoothen your journey of life without any halts!

I love your smile when teased that you are the “best wife I ever had”,

Cross my fingers and I pray once again that there is never a moment you are ever, ever sad!
