There is something in the wind

Today.

It is cold

And lonely.

Is the wind mourning

The loss of something it loved?

There is something in the sky

Today.

It is grey

And sunless.

Is the sky hiding

Its sorrow from the world?

There is something in the sea

Today.

It is austere

And calm.

Is the sea weeping

For an opportunity it can never take?

There is something in the world today.

It is enveloping

And heartbreaking.

Is the world in silence

For the end of something primordial?
