Glittery Words
By Srishti Satsangi
Doing things that seemed good before,
just one taste can't tell if whole food's already sour.
You had a chance you blew it off,
now the coming years will end up rough.
A tortoise can't survive,
when it's surrounded by the crocodiles.
Notices every corner and every path,
fraught with the growling noise as he rises.
And when they laughed, it almost felt like,
rubbing the salt over my wounded life.
Just lay down on the back,
with broken pieces in crestfallen high.
View seems golden with a sparkle of true side,
neglected before, and now grappling to let the kite fly.
It always lands on its own ground,
just a minute of amusement, now the cruelty is on the round.
Encircling every inch, every corner deliberately,
if it would've been a curve, it could've you, spared.
Flowing down the feeble cheeks,
the salty tears and the weeps.
Getting up isn't the same,
today the innocent birds are playing games.
Doubting the confirmed ticket,
wallowed in own pain and kicked off your wicket.
Trying to pace back to the initial curve,
hoping to seek back all those glittery words.
Shine like a diamond even if filled with a lie,
but it was something to invigorate the positive high.
