Girl I knew

To the girl I once knew during childhood

Who harbored some thoughts of affection

the one who longed for freedom

but came out as a wounded soldier

I could sense her screams for normalcy

I could witness the shattering of dreams

I could feel the emptiness and grief

the fear killed her like acid from beneath

The personality change was a mask

the dreadful look had a broken heart

the soulful cries had a hidden message

I wish she was released from her bondage

Please come back and see what you have missed

Turn around the time and feel the rhythm

talk to people and see what you discover

Just don’t leave because your hope is over

Live for the moments which define your existence

Breathe for the wind that touches your glistened eyes

Experience for the love that you deny

Hang on to miracle, it can either destroy or surprise
