Game Of Chess
By Aryan Jhunjhunwala
Two minds buckling against each other,
Two colors racing to win the fight,
The depth of this game is much further,
A test for the brain’s might.
Those black and white sixty-four squares,
Create scenarios too great,
Like a humungous warfare,
There is defeat in one’s fate.
The pawns, the knights, the bishops, the rooks,
All move to and fro,
All the mind’s power is put,
Just to have the king below.
Pieces die, and so do hopes,
As the game progresses fast,
Even though all is bound by time’s ropes,
The intelligent wins at last.
Vivid and brilliant strategies prevail,
And so do mind-blowing defenses,
Where the best of the men can fail,
And the new ones can win immense.
Sixteen pieces on each side,
All arranged in sequence same,
It is where luck shows its might,
Only the skill is behind the fall and fame.
