The ice settled with a gasp
As the wind howled in mourning
The vines of frost creeped along the black gateway
And the moon shied behind the clouds,
Its tears flowing a glistening river,
Riveting back to Earth.
The once green plants trembled,
Bowing their heads as a salute
And laying their fragile existence
Back to Earth.
The frozen water could shed no tears
And could not bow it’s head in salute.
It shined and cracked
And broke with a cry
As its ice quivered back to Earth.
With an anguish cry,
The earth shook.
For frequent friends of the Earth
Loss and misery
Creeped back to Earth.
