Oh, my daughter-in-law is like my own daughter,

If she speaks against your son, do you still support her?

Oh, she can work, earn and stand on her feet,

Is it ok if home responsibility she leaves incomplete?

Oh, we never interfere; she can do what she wants,

But what if to your instructions, she does not response?

Oh, she can choose her clothes and wear whatever she likes,

But she should not be out late nights?

Oh, she can rest on Sundays and wake up late,

But food should be served by her in the plate?

Oh, we don’t put pressure for having a kid,

But for a happy and complete life it is needed indeed?

Oh, we understand she has a lot of work at her table,

But on every festival and function she is expected to be available?

Oh, forward society, for being so generous a big thank you!

She is a human with emotions like you too.
