Fort For A Night

Let’s build a fort and live in for a night,

Hang from the ceiling those little fairy lights,

Walls of linen from our beds and cupboards,

Ropes running across the living room on which our fort loads.

A dozen pillows for the cupid to rest by,

And our moon dangling from the night sky,

I’ll let free some fireflies and light up our keep,

Only thing we’re missing a dragon in our dungeon so deep.

The kids in us rejoice and adults from inside lurk,

We get under a blanket and fancy our work,

Being in some snacks, some drinks and maybe some wine,

Netflix and chill inside would be more than just fine.

A couch and plenty of empty carpet for us to fill,

Less of worldly noise and more of our giggles spill,

We gasp at our coziness and what’s near,

That’s us and for god’s sake in our hearts we stay dear.
