Forever is not promised and the day you died an emptiness stayed

Where forever was meant to be suddenly became a farewell

Goodbyes were something I always dreaded yet today was a day I had to do

As I put on my black clothes I stared into the unknown and wondered how silence found me

Once I heard a voice and it was yours, you'd call and I would reply but not today

Today the only sound was that of the funeral car below and in it there you lay

I wanted to fall and break and be weak but no I had to be strong

Our kids still needed a mom

So, as I finally did the last button of my dress I stood up to face what was ahead

Your things everywhere just missing was you

I was asked to say a speech and honestly, I had no words accept ï will always love you

So, darling forgive me for today

Forgive if I have nothing else to say

I am lost without you my heart you take

Goodbye till we meet someday
