एक धुन तैयार की है,

तुम्हारे लिए।

सादगी में ओढ़े ख़्वाबों के लिए,

तुम्हारी सारी मीठी बातों के लिए,

कल के जवाबों के लिए,

बीते अफ़सानों के लिए,

कुछ मेरे लिए,

पर सब तुम्हारे लिए,

सिर्फ़ तुम्हारे लिए।

तुम आओगे तो सुनाएँगे तुम्हें,

थोड़ा थोड़ा गुनगुनाएँगे तुम्हें,

धीरे धीरे रठते जाएँगे तुम्हें,

फिर एक रोज़ एक गीत में सजाएँगे तुम्हें,

वो सिर्फ़ हमारे लिए,

थोड़ा तुम्हारे लिए।

यह एहसास बयान हो जाये तो जता दें तुम्हें,

हम जो थे,

जो हैं,

और होंगे,

सब तुम्हारे लिए।

मोहब्बत हो जाये तो बताना नहीं 

कहा है हमसे,

यह कैसा गुनाह है की सज़ा है रब से,

यह सज़ा भी मज़ूर है हमें बिना मलाल किए,

सिर्फ़ तुम्हारे लिए।
