For It Was You Who Brought Me To This Place

When I felt your arms holding me

I was in a different world

All I saw was a picture

anchoring me to the earth

And in your arms, I felt comfort

For it was you who brought me to this earth

You shushed me till I fell asleep

Into a casket of blissful dreams, which did not let me weep

For in your arms there was some magic

That took me to another land

Infused with kindness

Was the warmth of your hand

For it was you who kept me anchored

To this beautiful place

When I first opened my mouth to express my joy

Mom, you were so awestruck, all you said was 'O boy'

In times when I was lonely

you were my pillar

How can I forget?

It was like I was a boat and you were my tiller

Now when I look at your face

I feel grateful that you had brought me to this place

It's rather hard to end your praise

So, Mom, let's just hope that you live with grace
