Flummoxed
By Dr. Mehul Purohit
Hallowed be thy name, The Holy Father. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, I'd live in that rather. Your precursory actions, Brought us into existence. For whatever malfunctions, Who should we blame this instance? Priests get executed, On their way to salvation. Their rights, rebutted, Accounts a horrific narration. How random is your wrath? Is there a plan? Did they deserve the bloodbath? Where have you ran? Pardon me and my dubiety, To ask, I dare, Tell me, O, tell me almighty, Is this fair? In this journey of redemption, Their soul was suffering. You took their lives, their possessions, Disguised as offerings. The question still stands And I don't expect the answer. I've made my amends, For despair is cancer. Hallowed be thy name, You Un-holy Father. Continue your game, And kill another.
-M.
Epilogue (just to make it comprehensible, not a part of the write up): It was near Palghar, a few years back, when two priests were pelted and killed by an angry mob, in the presence of a policeman, for no fault of their own. This incident reminded me of a nun sister back from my school, who passed away in a horrible railway accident.
You start wondering, why, these people who gave up everything in the name of the Lord, were entitled to this suffering? If there’s someone protecting us (as we say) or looking upon us, why would he voluntarily (yes, if it’s his will to make it happen, it’s his will to not let it occur) let them leave this world like this. For all we know, we have sinned much more then them. Or if not, then they have definitely had more time to repent for their sins.
I am not against the idea of God, but like an average man my faith is average, my thoughts are average because I can’t come to terms with the idea of an un-fair God.
