Flu

You never understand the dramatics

Of someone with flu

Until you get it as well.

The unmoved corpse that does nothing

but weep.

I feel like im dying…

My nose rejects oxygen

Like a baby rejects food

My body rejects movement

Like a locked door turning its back on the key

I take all the remedies known to man

And yet, this disease sticks to me

Like superglue.

Every night I fight for sleep

Tossing and turning

Wishing to shut down

In the blankets I burn

Outside the blankets I freeze

And this damn headache

Makes me want to scream!

I hate feeling helpless

Hate being immobile

Even though im lazy,

The knowledge that I can do it if wanted to

Gives me a sense of… peace

But now, I, feel, useless.

I feel like a newborn baby

That can do nothing but cry

I feel like a soldier

That is now a prisoner of war.

If flu was a person,

I would drown it.

In the depths of the Pacific Ocean

And Never look back

because This, is unacceptable.
