Fix You?
By Snigdha Mishra
i don't try to fix you anymore
i know i can't
your emptiness - the landscape
for tumbling conversations
both meaningless and pithy
the vivid colorful dreams
some so dark
scaring the unwitting away
some so bright
they appear nothing but white
to the indifferent eye
your brokenness makes way
for the love to creep in
in unexpected moments
in awkward hugs
in stolen glances
the pauses between your sentences
the spaces between our fingers
your scars - the canvas
for stories lived
of fires of passion that the love made
of a life forlorn
of a self lamented
of heartaches and pain
of moments of vulnerability that never came
you are the sum of everything you've felt and seen
you are every version of who you've been
and everything else you will be
in your tattered wholeness
you are you, all of you
all of you for you
all of you for me
all of you for the world to see
so i don't want to fix you anymore
i know that you don't need to be
