Fight for your write

Original Submission by Jessica Young

Fight for your write.

Script, alphabets, ideograms, headings and titles The various things used to communicate

Language, handwriting, printing, cursive,

The various ways in which we write

Pen, ink, plastic, lead, carbon, wood, ball, metal

The various components of writing materials

How do they relate?

How can we simply understand writing,

When everyone’s appears in their own fashion

Bouncy, bubbly, straight, neat, untidy, small, large, Yet no matter the look we understand

Trained from young, cursive and print

The words our hands produce holds so much power Afterall, they say the pen is mightier than the sword So yield your sword, hold it above your head

Heave it high for battle against the enemy,

Fight the enemy till defeat and awaken and fight again Never allow the generative power to overtake

Stand strong and powerful with your print

No matter your fight’s appearance it displays something stronger The bubbles a display of bubbles within

The straight direct force a display of logic and reason The speed a display of putting the brain before the sword

Fight the fight, write till your fingers bleed from the pure power Write the stories, write the tasks, write the tests

Write the punishments, write the planning, write the notes Ensure that in every drop of ink, a drop of your soul flows with it

It is only through the power and strength of writing

That we can hope to defend against the generative enemy Write, till you cant no more

And when you cant write anymore

Draw, doodle, scribble, decorate it,

Continually place ink on dead trees inscribed with your soul For the more you put your heart and soul onto those compacted tree pieces The more we develop and extend our intellect

So I call out, do not lay down your swords men

Do not simply allow the over taking

Fight back, write back and let your soul bleed ink in the resistance.
