Fifteen And Counting
By Aliasgar Mansur Khambati
Fifteen years - here we are and counting,
The frenzy and the dash of love keeps mounting.
The relationship we share, quite unusual,
The banter, the fun, the bickering sometimes so casual.
So many expectations from you, and you stand so steadfast,
Your ability to endure and patience, I pray is here to last.
Your strength is unmatchable belief in yourself,
I so wish I could say that, even a bit about myself.
You challenge yourself to unfathomable levels in life,
To take up many a thing besides being a doting wife.
You teach and learn, in your endeavour to always grow and earn,
It is an inspiration and a tribute to your being at every turn.
I sometimes just need no reason, but whenever I sulk,
There you are in a jiffy with advice and your affection in bulk.
We have our fights and it soon becomes a free for all,
But then we reconcile, and I find myself, often standing tall!
Yet we made it together through ups and downs,
Through dollops of laughter and intense frowns.
I want this journey to go on and on to life’s end.
To bless our little one all along, who is completely our blend.
Thank you, thank you my love for all that you are!
It has been just fifteen short years…
And yet a journey to go with you, still extremely far!
