Fears And Tears
By Syed Sajjad Qadri
Within the dark maze of wailing clouds
Where my feathers flutter
in the clutter of disoriented thoughts
You are lost in the haze hiding my moon
And I see you melting down in drops
Under the shrouds of tragic croon
You relegate yourself to loneliness
Pretending peace within your cocoon
But this silent calm is the veiled storm
Meant to rip you to bits and harm
Shed this obduracy
Preposterously ravaging
What we have built without a guilt
These drops, these rains, these storms
Can’t wash the swarms of living scars
On my moon hidden where you are lost
Deep in the haze and maze of wailing clouds
And you live like a slipping drop of dew
Falling silently from grace
On the face of drooping flowers
Where you pretend to charm the gardens
In the scattered rays of morning sun
While I wait for your return
And you hate being reminded the days
Of sun, moon, stars and rain
Making us insane together in awe
Tricking like molten drops of love
But everything changed in such a haste
My chaste passion consigned to a waste
You heartlessly cracked skies to pieces
Demolished alone the huge empire
Of respect, love and care
I tried to hide it under my armpits
You chopped my arms in anger fits
They crashed on the floor like clay pots
The rains washed them crimson red
With blood drops from wailing clouds
And dew drops from lorn eyes
We fell apart with cracks in clouds
Looking two but in thousand pieces
Lost in drizzles, sizzles and tears
From pairs to lonely wrecks
We travelled from skies to seas
Rivers to vapours and died alone
With our own fears and tears!
