Farewell It Is

To my pumpkin,

Let me start by saying a few words,

And mind you, this isn’t a game.

I am a lot of things,

But a quitter is not one of them.

I’ve seen you a lot in my dreams,

But in front of me I want you to gleam.

For there is no point in seeing you,

I you are not in front of my view.

All of this could shatter,

Of only a few words is this matter,

Though I have accepted what it is,

Bye O friend, farewell it is.

You are just my friend and alas!

Nothing more than that could we ever pass.

My cold tears may freeze on my cheeks,

For the winter you have brought is of the highest peaks.

I’m just a child,

Whom you have understood,

Just a fun-loving child,

With neither fire nor wood.

You have given me a hope,

In this crystal of glass,

And now, the threshold of platonicity,

Is what I want to surpass.

As the moonlight illuminates our feet,

We look forward to a brighter future.

You’re a majestic creation,

While I’m a lying creature.

Still I should keep it inside,

Though my patience now knows no limits

Goodbye O friend,

Farewell it is.
