Farewell

Standing by the clock

Waiting for time to tick by.

I doubt you’ll ever come back,

But walking away means a broken hope.

You were my words and laughter,

And I thought that you would be my forever and after.

Words that could only be spoken to you,

For you were the only one who understood my music.

You were amongst the few who stood in my heart.

I would turn around only to find no one

And realize that now we stand apart.

All I wished for was to have you by my side

But I wonder if you ever felt the same

For now, here I am wondering if you have chosen

To stand by the farewell you bid.
