FALLING

I have found myself falling-

deeper than the heavy breath of tectonic tides. I have found myself falling

for a sanctuary, hoping she might catch me, hoping that within her heart, she will keep me. Beautiful sovereign, will you let me in?

Into the world where I am trapped within.

For you, I am willing to tear down

every fortress, brick by heavy brick,

to be the one in whom your dreams and fears confide. For you, I will sing praises to the Divine

who sculpted your frame like a masterpiece, like gold pulled from the dark of the rubble- from the architecture of your contours

to the landscape of your skin,

smooth, soft, and supple.

With a single smile, she draws me in.

Draw me in, draw me in; I am the canvas, you the portrait. Like a magnetic pull fracturing my force field, I can no longer fight these tides.

She has won me over-

I accept defeat, and to her, I yield.
