Expat Life, Expat Wife

As I packed my suitcase, a crying toddler by my side,

Exhausted, yet exhilarated for the travel far and wide.

As I bid goodbye to my far and near,

The lonesome state of mind I did fear.

Few hours and a novice in a new land

I felt bizarre, hearing a language I did not understand.

Couple of futile attempts to shop,

Hither and thither, I had to hop.

Emotions galore, yet I trudged along,

Seeking solace in my son’s favourite song.

Time, the healer , I settled into this new life

Enjoying my then stature as an expat wife.
