Burning blue night, scarred skies,

A lake of reflection makes a sea of lies,

Never let the lonely lead you along,

Because life is so simple it can go wrong.

Prognostication of predicaments,

Dodging the stars shooting like laser beams,

Fingers on scars hiding them like they were nothing,

By which I mean, of course, everything.

There's too much to find and too much to lose,

Crossroads round the corner, someday you’ve got to choose,

The altitude gets lower and the shadows slink closer,

This time you'll be chased, rather than being the chaser.

The smoke sting the eyes but your mind is so clear,

As your hand gripped the gear and your foot hit the accelerator,

You run, hit the brakes, fight all the way,

And you're just going up, up and away.

Hiss of the wind, signs anew,

Morning drools on the leaves as dew,

Whiff of a storm, of a burn long ago,

This time you’ve got to show all that you know.

Dangers run amok, challenges ready to ambush you,

But there's something in your flair that's screams cryptic too,

Ready to haunt the ghosts in their grey graves,

And find the light at the end of the caves.

What am I trying to prove,

With all the maneuvers on the move?

To you, it might be fraught with empty nothing,

But to me, I see... everything.
