Ethereal
By Shweta Nadar
I stare like you're the sun meeting the sea
you cross your arms on the table, so serene
your movements like gentle waves
your voice inviting, I spill words like rain
I lived in dark woods
you came in like golden rays
lighting little patches of my ground
that the monstrous trees haven't found
rain on a river
I couldn't help getting soaked
stopped me from running
away into the skies
where there was no one mine
like I don't want time
stars in my eyes
falling with a feeling of flying
everything around
had no sound but your voice rings loud
calming the storms
showing me there's more
than all my self loathe
I could never wish it
flowers by a waterfall
heavens mark the grand hall
rubies in the rings I play with
shimmering smiles with you in rooms dimly lit
the constellations covering my shame
are formed by the stardust of your face
I was withering like wilting trees in dry, cold winds
you drink sunshine and fly in my world with iridescent wings
