Essay On Cleanliness

By Idonlakador Kharlor

Cleanliness is the state or quality of being clean or being kept clean.Cleanliness is next to Godliness. If we love God and honour him,we should also love and take good care of his creations.God has bestowed in us the authority to look after all of his creations.

In our country,India,we have seen that people do not prioritize cleanliness which is actually the root of a healthy, fresh environment and surroundings.A lot of rare diseases have come up these days because of the dirty environment.Pollution is increasing day by day and the air quality is becoming worse.Breathing of poor quality of air affects our respiratory tracts.Delhi is one of the worst affected city with a huge population of asthma patients.

All of us wants our country to be developed and independent but development comes at a cost.We have seen that large industries and also hospitals discharges their effluents into the environment without treating it first. This pollutes the air and the sewage coming from the industries got merge with the water bodies which makes it unfit for consumption. This reduces the percentage of clean water present in the environment.Construction of roads and bridges causes a lot of environmental destruction which leads to global warming.Temperature is rising beyond the normal rate.

The government should impose strict rules and regulations on all business houses and also hospitals that they should treat their effluents before discharging them.As we have seen now,in Meghalaya, government hospitals have installed machines for treating the effluents but most of the private hospitals have not yet installed. This shows the social irresponsibility towards the environment.

Awareness programs should be conducted from time to time to instill in the mind of people the importance and benefits we derived from a clean environment.Real education begins at home,so parents played an important role in instilling in young minds which is our future generations the importance of taking care of the environment we live in.Young minds and children grabs what the elders taught and put it into practice and this practice slowly becomes a good habit.Educational institutions should also teach and remind the students from time to time the harmful effects of a dirty environment. As the whole world is at war against plastics because of its inability to get decompose easily,so all of us should come together to find a solution towards this problem which is the main cause to the environment destruction.Proper disposals of plastics should be done so that it can be reused and recycled.Throwing of plastics everywhere and anywhere on the streets, streams, rivers, forests, lakes and ponds destroys their natural beauty and causes pain to the environment.

A clean environment only brings out the best in it.It gives us not only a healthy life but also reduces stress and brings peace and happiness.A clean environment played an important role in the overall well being of a human body.A clean environment attracts tourists from different parts of the world.Tourism acts as a source of livelihood to the people.Example,Mawlynnong, the village who is known for its cleanliness in the whole of Asia attracts a lot of tourists because of its reputation.

A person who is clean is not the one who runs away from the dirt but the one who goes to the dirt and clean them.``Practice makes a man perfect``,if we all practice small steps in whatever we can towards cleaning the environment, our country,India, would be a better place to live in.Human wants are unlimited,if all of us can limit our wants, resources would be saved and the wastes materials and pollution would also be reduced.
