Espresso

You are my shot of espresso

The bitter truth scalding my throat

And yet I desire more

Slipping down, consume my very being

Addicted to the high you arouse in me

No cream nor sugar can taint

We soak in unadulterated oceans

My drug of choice, my daily dose

Your lips, I thirst

Drain your café noir infused soul into my veins

Till I’m sick at the very thought

And yet you, my remedy, I will forever crave
