Engraved In Heart

Day we met is engraved in heart

Never knew you'll become life's part

Carried our own past baggage

Scared of people taking advantage

Confining ourselves behind a wall

Didn't want painful thoughts to recall

Running away wasn't so tough

Whatever we went through was enough

Couldn't find courage to trust

Won't even try as it's not must

Whatever happened has left a mark

Don't want to go back in the dark

Tried to restart with new connection

Never required anyone's fake protection

Found solace in someone better

Think this as a confession letter
