Empyrean
By Omar Jawed Shaikh
On giant oaks the little canary perch,
Delicate chirps yawn awake the lumber
Lull Echoes reverberate on tropical trees
Brisk south westerlies cascade along the canopy,
Reviving green leaves and vivid flowers on warped beams
Subliminal contrast they make to high soaring blue seas
Boundless emptiness, it's infinite wonder
Trade winds haul mammoth misty splendor
Clouds perform impressions of things peculiar
Elephant turn to dogs then to bearded old men,
Faces of all shapes are carved up there
Faces are but imagination of little boys down here.
Silent tick of the sundials, talk different shade of the sky
Every moment, an amalgamy of blue and the sun's orange hue
Green and purple of apollo can also paint transcending murals
Proud eternal skies dance daily, to tunes of his alchemy,
Every morning the canary chirps a melody,
And paradise unfurls itself as a new symphony,
