Elegy For A Love Lost

In the stillness of the night,

I hear the echoes of our love's sweet song,

But now it's just a distant memory,

Of a time that's forever gone.

I mourn the loss of what we had,

Of the laughter and the tears we shared,

And though time may have moved on,

The pain and the longing still linger there.

The touch of your hand, the warmth of your embrace,

Are but shadows that flicker in my mind,

And I'm left with this emptiness,

As I try to leave the past behind.

But how can I forget what we once had,

When our love was a flame that burned so bright?

Now all that's left is this elegy,

For a love lost in the dead of night.

So here I am, with pen in hand,

Trying to capture what's already gone,

But even as I write these words,

I know the pain will linger on.

For though I may have said goodbye,

And tried to leave the past behind,

The memory of you will always stay,

As the love that once was mine.
