Echoes of a Shattered Road

I can still remember the touch of bare warm hands, supposed to be nurturing and guiding Yet they were the very hands that glided, smashing The road of my innocence.

I remember every hug, supposed to be consoling Yet it felt like snakes wrapping their slithering bodies around me, suffocating Until the last ounce of my purity lost its breath.

I remember those eyes, supposed to be the mirror of truth, Yet hunger and thirst for carnality were hidden deep down in their roots, For every lustful look craved my soul’s youth.

I remember each kiss, supposed to be of love, Yet every bit of it was full of evil as it continuously demanded, though I’ve said “enough.” For every kiss was the death of the child in me.
