Echoes Of A Ghost

I am no longer what I was, mother. I am merely a poorly casted reflection of you. Anxious, I pull out

my hair, pick at my skin until there’s bone, I run away, away from conflict. But on certain moons,I

see her, completely different from you and me, mother, and she’s laughing and playing in the other

room. And I barely recognize her, I recognize that I feel so distant from her. What a tragedy it is that I

can no longer go back to her, and all I can do is press my ear to the wall and listen to her fading

screams of joy.
