Standing in the middle of nowhere

I haven’t got a clue as to how I ended up here

I want to keep moving

But haven’t got a single place on my mind.

That shouldn’t matter because,

Isn’t it “follow your heart”?

But I guess that is only for those who are wild and free

because my heart always leads me down to that road

where if I could turn time the other way round

it would be to those days where I had all of you.

Because now things have changed

The laughter which once brought joy, haunts me

I can find myself turning around because

I see a silhouette of seven in a single shadow.

Maybe it’s true when they say “people who you love never truly leave you”

I find myself missing things I never thought I would

The crammed-up benches, messy potlucks, dripping sarcasm, meaningless talks

If flashes of these memories were colors that splashed out

every time they occurred

at least then my life wouldn’t be so grey.

I keep pushing these images away,

but they keep coming back.

Just like the moon that comes back every night

Guess that’s just how things work

but I wish they didn’t

because if there’s something I hate,

it’s looking forward to looking back again.
