Did the Butterflies Die?
Original Submission by Wageesha Sathindi Ranaweera Arachchi
Did the Butterflies Die?
There was that time, I felt those butterflies;
At the glimpse of you, dancing to a rhythm
In my stomach, in my heart and in my head
It was a total mess in my mind
Total blank when I see you
Total thank I gave to God for you
But it never was planned, to expose my soul
Somehow you got to know;
Still not to the point, where you really should know
Then the much I got hurt,
Bitterly felt how those butterflies die;
And I watched them die with the helpless eyes
Let my hopes die and vomited them dead butterflies;
Oh! With the flow of blood from the wounds of my heart
Good heavens, I saw you again!
That’s when I realized those butterflies never really died.
