Dewdrops

By the window we watch

Glowing against the inky backdrop

Big bloated butterscotch moon

that swathes us in sunflower gold

Vanilla clouds drifting by

whispering sweet nothings

Stars blinking back tears

at the beauty that so divinely hurts

Like dew drops they come

to settle on our lashes

As we twirl lambent lit in love

Oblivious that this love we live

may one day be lost

That the sun may rise in a silent sky

emptied of bird song

But not until this road runs out of time
