DETACHED

DETACHED

The harsh winds wrapped around her ruthlessly, stinging her fragile huddled body yet somehow it comforted her. She no longer felt any pain as her eyes looked beyond the pristine snow towards the mountain she had only dreamt of before.

“Am here” she whispered, her voice echoed before quickly being swallowed into emptiness.

She closed her eyes and sank onto the soft snow willing it to soothe her.

“Am here,take me.”

And slowly she let go as the tears rolled down uncontrollably.

She let go the feelings she had carried all her life.

The feeling of being unwanted. The feeling of being unloved. The feeling of never having belonged anywhere.

“No more lessons “ she whispered as she curled into a little ball and let go.

Let go the heaviness she had carried on her fragile shoulders her whole life as the snow gently fell around her.

“Peace” she thought as her eyes closed.
