The flower that blossomed from a single seed, Nurtured in the sand, despite the weed. As it stands alone, amidst the green, And fills every heart with pleasure over the simplicity seen.

The red, a sign of love and trust, The consequences of all the toil and dust. The petals that blossomed on a thorn filled stalk, To become a warm bouquet in its life's walk.

As it blossomed beautifully and lived it's dream, So obvious and effortless it seemed. A road that was once our common dream 'Buried' together, as we'd seen.

And as I watched my brother from far Who survived this, what I couldn't dare! As he blossomed into the bright red rose, And I stayed buried in the sand and decompose.

We're seeds borne out by the same fruit, We promised to stay in concert from seed to shoot, Little did I know I would stay behind, And you would grow as time unwind.

I know it's selfish to feel despair. I know it's selfish to find it unfair. A journey for which we were both destined, Despite all my efforts, I fell behind!

Who do I say is at fault? Did I falter, or destiny called? But does it matter, would anyone understand? The fate of the seed that lays buried in the land.
