Desire

By Mandira Palit

The moonlit night never made me so crazy,

The pleasant breeze and fragrance of seasonal flowers,

Never made me so intoxicated before I met thee.

Never have I spent such a sleepless night,

Nor felt a day so restless, before I met thee.

Even in your absence, I feel your touch,

I experience the warmth of your breath,

I desire to die at that very moment,

Keeping these feelings in my bosom.
