Democracy - A Part Of Humanity

By Harshita Gupta

The hill we climb, the ocean bed we find

need to be preserved

like history, to remember the ancestral success.

We shall find

the salt for which we march,

that breaks the abstruse laws of pride.

The freedom shall be accrued,

the justice shall be served,

for the humanity, might fall

but not be forlorn.

The ravening will fight

the martyr will be remembered

until the sun shines and moon blossoms.

Not a war

but a true struggle

against the hideous acts

like Jallianwalla Bagh massacre.

Only if apology could undo the tragedy

only if the gone could be regained.

But the pilgrimage to democracy

shall never end

for the humanity could always get

stronger, finer than ever.

And thus, the eternal saga would continue

and we would always preserve

the hill we climb, the ocean bed we find.
