December
By Chandana Chowdary
It started early in winter.
It grew along the fog like splinter.
It was chilling cold outside
But , you were the only warmth beside.
Everything under the blue
Seemed to bloom.
Every phase was having a hedge.
Yet, crossed them to reach your edge.
We had every bang
As jingles rang.
We ate the same pie
On Xmas high.
Days passed; minutes withered.
Better stuff was found.
I was left forsaken
Waiting for your words unspoken.
After such a long way,
It was all about yay or nay.
For that list on wall, only you were asked.
Being a little kid, turning to Santa is the only way I picked.
The church bell rang
Celebrating the Jesus’s sprang.
Amidst the loud carols
The voice of you is the true revel.
The spirit within
Shed the fuming tears deep in.
It was not about a person
It was about mixed emotion.
New year Pierced the darkness
And paved its way to gloriousness.
Again, came the summer, spring, fall
And finally, the December with its greatest hols.
This time, it wasn’t about yay or nay,
All that mattered is just a “say”!
