Death's Irony

Death, dost thou ever sleep

Dost thou witness nightmares

Death, dost thou ever weep

Art thou fearful of our prayers?

Thou must rejoice thy selfdom

Our prayers must be thy melody

Our fear must be thy kingdom

Wherefore our breath be thine elegy.

Is it verily though,

That people fear thee the most

For I’ve found in truth and lore

Of its enormity that agony boasts.

For it is easier to find someone

That choses to die feigning sacrifice

Than to find someone that lives

On the strand of angst, sufficed.
