Dear world.

When did we begin thanking the

weekend

instead of the sunrise?

When did the clock we created

begin to command our lives,

instead of obeying our hands?

We have learned to count our days until freedom,

forgetting that freedom was never meant to arrive only twice a week. We call it civilisation,

never noticing the cage it quietly became.

We laugh at the ant

that stops before a line of ink,

believing it cannot cross.

Yet, we spend our lives

obeying lines of our own.

What, then, is the difference between us?

Perhaps the prison was never built

around us, but within us.

Perhaps that is why we never

question it, mistaking captivity

for routine.

And those who dare to step beyond it.

We call them reckless, dreamers or simply lost.

If tomorrow were your last sunrise,

would you still spend today waiting for Friday?
