Darling, Don’t Just Say I’m Fine

By Anand Gupta

To all my messages

All you say now, “I’m fine.”

More than you

I know, you are not

Because when you’re

You don’t say, you’re fine,

You toss the moon, the stars and

Do all those things that

This world finds silly

When you’re fine

You just look at me and

Your smile says it all

You hold my heart in your palm

And bounce it to the sky

Making me a true star and

The true king of your universe

Darling, I know

All days can’t be the right

Even all nights can’t be the same

In some moon will be bright

In some it won’t even light

Some days it’s gonna rain, and

In some it’s gonna leave us dry

But till you’re holding my hands and

I’m holding yours, I know

Everything’s gonna be alright

I know, my love

Twenties can be troubling

As it roars and frames the life

Come, give it one more try

I still orbit around you

In all this unending universe

Still all I could find is you

So come to me,

Bring my life back

That spurt of smiles back, and

Tell me you’re fine

As you always do

By just being you, but

Please, don’t just say, “I’m fine.”
