Darling Daffodil
By Shruthi
Stuck in my head like an unfulfilled dream, Are you my favourite film?
Coz I play it over and over ...
Like a tape glued to the player,
Change seems delusional.
Like a truth difficult to accept,
Or a reality I reject to live.
So many letters,
Waiting to be sent...
I converse more with you in my head, than in reality.
Sitting in the laps of the past,
I count the clouds of your memories. These might be passing clouds,
But drenched in tears, sorrows and grief. I dream of peace,
I dream of joy,
I dream of a reality.
It's winter, and I'm still not over you. It was spring when I had you.
opportunist or antagonist?
I leave it up to you...
Bloomed in March,
Blossomed in September,
withered in December.
It's gone forever.
You return like autumn,
and I fall every time
But this time, I don't wanna fall,
I want to rise... beyond all skies,
beyond the clouds,
where the fairies reside,
With the little cupid beside.
The transition from agony to tranquility. Oh so beautiful!
I wonder, in a realistic world,
why does the idea of love seem comforting? Is it the denial of reality
or a delusional illusion?
Is it a universal faux
or a multidimensional truth?
You see, these secret postcards between your heart and mind, need no validation from any 'x'. It is the divinity of your conscience, The determinism of your soul, How you really treat yourself, The true comfort of love.
