Darkness is feared,
Emotions are undermined.
Both forge a friendship,
In the solitude of night.
It seeps through the deep well of your sorrows.
It's a silent witness to the surge of your resentment.
It absorbs the sins of your soul known to none.
It teasingly taunts at the manifestation of your deepest desires.
It finally joins you in the celebration of your dreams.
At the sight of the gentle rays of sun, it retreats;
Gone for now but soon to be back when the stars surge again.
