Dark Skies
By Anantjit Chander
Dark skies above, so deep and wide
A canopy of black, where stars reside
In this veil of darkness, mysteries hide
A world of wonder, to explore inside
The moon, a sliver, its light so faint
Yet it illuminates, without restraint
The shadows dance, in a wild paint
A rhythm that's mystic, without restraint
The clouds, a canvas, painted with grey
They seem to move, with the winds at play
A moment of calm, then a storm to sway
A symphony of nature, in its own way
The stars, a guide, in this midnight hour
A source of hope, in their shining power
They twinkle, and sparkle, without a cower
In this world of darkness, they are the tower
Dark skies above, so deep and wide
A canvas of wonder, that we abide
In this moment of peace, we confide
To the beauty of darkness, we preside.
