Dandelions
By Nazrio Juoanna Alvinkaruna
Fields of dandelions outstretched to the end of my vision,
Planted in rhythmic patterns,
I sway past every one, admiring the beauty of small white feathers,
Pinching the stem off, softly blowing over the top of the dandelions,
Small, white feathers brushed the side of your face, as you turned to look at me,
Your eyes find mine, we lock in gaze, nearly feeling deadly,
Running through the fields, feeling like the world is ours,
Forgetting all the pain along with life’s scar’s,
You and me all the time,
Even if it meant we’d have to wait a lifetime,
Your hands caressing my cheeks, light, soft touches of passion,
Eyes ignited as you pull me closer and feel every inch of me,
Hearing your heartbeat go “lup-tup, lup-tub” against the tips of my ears,
Wishing on every dandelion here, hoping this lasts and doesn’t fade away like whispers,
Laughing in sync to the wind fluttering around us,
I could paint this scenic imagery onto a canvas,
Capturing each moment, the colours of life in this one moment,
It’s you who makes everything seem beautiful,
My face fits perfectly between your hands when you pull me near,
Like puzzle pieces, made just for each other,
Your eyes don’t move from mine, we’re locked in gaze, once again,
We smile, shutting our eyes while your lips gently touch my forehead,
Freezing time, could this just go on forever,
Forever until we pull apart.
