I was sitting in the whisky bar, Trying to fill in my daddy's shoe, Boy did I know, they had travelled to the border and gone behind enemy lines too, And here I was sitting in the whisky bar making myself look like a fool. Kashmir's the flavor, Pakistan the topping; my daddy knew it all, He had a way for these things, but I never cracked, since I was too busy doing my own thing Sipping good 'old whisky with my pals has been my thing. Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe Daddy's shoe never gets old, It's gone up and down many a milestone's Feels so warm, whenever I put them on They keep getting better every year, just like Old Monk.

They have travelled the north, they have seen the sunrise, they have been to the south, they have seen the sunset, they have done it all, they have seen it all, them good old shoes, and they have done their job. Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe And as I take down the last drink of them all, Those good 'old shoes step into the bar, He pulls a chair and then pulls them off, He walks right over, and says put them on. Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe So I go back home to do my thing, I see a decanter and a glass of gin, So I call up my pals and we do our thing, Sorry dad but the shoe needs a stitch. Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe Daddy's shoe daddy's shoe never gets old daddy's shoe.
