Cruelty
By Arun J
You, my darling, are the cruelest man I know.
You say you love me, still let your hatred flow.
Pretty words and lullabies alike,
You sing to the ones who mount a pike.
Words that make a lion roar high,
You breathe to the ones climbing up the sky.
Songs of love and virtue you spew,
Onto the souls that are wounded askew.
Those who have ever known your warmth,
Has always left you in breezing calm.
But darling don’t you ever forget,
Don’t you end up bathing in regret.
The doctor of broken souls,
Is the griever of his own.
You, my darling, are the cruelest man I know.
You say you love everyone, but forget to love yourself alone.
