Cruelty
By Aryan Jhunjhunwala
He sees the world with tear outlining eyes,
The people living their lives,
It was the cruelty of men to fellow man,
That sucked them into the evil errand.
I stay quiet when the world on me pounds,
When the blood in me drips by leaps and bounds,
Such is the world—ridiculed, they don’t know,
The rate of destruction by human sin will grow.
My heart was lurking behind the rays to light sorrow,
When deeper than the ruins of Mohenjo Daro,
I found the truth of the world today,
Love, kindness, joy, and warmth are decaying every day.
When two terms like cruelty and corrode combine,
The truth to our world, we find,
Why we are stuck in wars for land,
When the virtues of the world, cruelty bans.
Cruelty at last is a human sin,
That has made the goodness dim,
All can be removed if we work and live in one clan,
And the tear in his eyes can be removed by MAN.
