Crossroads

One day, I'll look across the road
You'll be standing there with that smile on your face
You won't know I'm there
And neither will I call out your name
I'll see you and just smile as I walk away
Trying not to catch your eye
Because I know you'll jump right in front of me,
Or at least I think you would like you used to
It’s impossible for me to not remember everything whenever I see your face
Every fuckin little detail, as much as I don’t want to
Because as great as we once were together
We were, but now you are, and me, I'm not
Seeing u made me remember the pain i had felt
The one I still remember as clear as the blue sky.
The one if I let out, I'd be empty inside
Because it’s not you, but it’s the last part of you i have
I look at you, and feel how close you are to my arms, in my reach, just a flicker away
But can’t bring myself to cross that road again
Because the person you remember died with you not being there with him
The person across from you now is just a remnant that I have put together from our broken pieces
The pieces which once made him whole have made him fall into an abyss
And the longer he looks at you, the farther he'll go in
But would it stop him from looking at the one thing he wanted to never lose
I went in the day I lost that smile
Now, even if I fall to the bottom of the abyss
I'll be happy that the pieces which were gone
Are just lost, not deleted from existence
Because, a falling man can only do one thing,
HOPE.
